The problem
A growing restaurant group was running online orders through three different third-party platforms, each charging 25% to 30% in fees. Their Squarespace site couldn't handle catering inquiries or sell gift cards. Loyalty data sat in a paper punch-card system.
What we built
We migrated their web presence to Shopify Plus with a custom Hydrogen storefront. Online ordering now runs through Toast POS integration with a 7% direct fee instead of the 30% marketplace cut. Gift cards, catering bookings, and a digital loyalty program all live on one platform. We connected Klaviyo for email marketing tied to actual order history.
The outcome
- Direct online orders grew to 34% of total online volume in four months.
- Displaced roughly $18,000/month in third-party platform fees.
- Catering inquiries doubled after the dedicated booking flow launched.
